You’ll go through an intensive bootcamp with an intimate group of powerful participants on the same path. You will learn and study together, create, share feedback and be directly mentored by Tasha Blank, Meg Beatty and the PhDJ Team.

    Tasha is a celebrated international DJ, educator, co-founder of PhDJ and founder of BODY LVNGUAGE known for liberating hips in the world’s most legendary clubs (Cielo, Output, Verboten, House of YES) and wildest festivals (Envision, Lightning in a Bottle, Burning Man, Wanderlust, Beloved) as well as museums, churches, helipads, boats, roving desert ships, forests and mountaintops everywhere. 

    With a background in somatics, trauma healing, comparative religious and consciousness studies, she is obsessed with catalyzing movements that reconnect and transform. She’s here to welcome you home into your mastery and call your embodied leadership into its highest form.

  • Megan Beatty (DJ Maro)

    DJ, embodiment and spirituality coach, speaker, co-founder of PhDJ and CBO of BODY LVNGUAGE, Maro plays at the intersection of deep house and global bass, creating high vibe, celebratory dance floors.

    Based in Colorado, Maro’s extensive background in earth-based spirituality and embodiment make her a master at crafting spaces that invite body and soul into celebration and movement, spaces where the full range of expression is the only thing that matters.

  • Alexa Ledecky (LEXX)

    Born in France to a displaced Czech father and music-loving British mother, Alexa lives in Bristol, England. She's worked in marketing and production for a disabled-led circus company and social justice-centred arts projects, performed as a clown and drag king, and is known as LEXX behind the decks. As a DJ, she creates sexy spaces where gender gets bent and all being are held in love. She serves radical open-mindedness, embodied mentorship, and vibes that bring us back to our body magic.   • Michael Vadacchino (V)

    Power re-generator, permission ignitor and GPS to your primal self, Michael’s love for dance music is decades old. Diving into PhDJ turned his love affair with the dance floor into a full blown sexy open marriage. V’s musical vibe is deep and guttural - anything that will activate primal instincts.   • Shoshana

    It took a global pandemic + PhDj to bring Shoshana back to her first love of dance music after three decades telling stories in SF, NYC and LA. As a dancer, actor, director, producer and sound designer, her hips were awakened in 90s nightclubs and have been buzzing ever since. She’s the founder of non-profit performing arts school, Young Actors Project, and now sparks up systems for transformation as a DJ. She is a Helper Priestess specializing in tool sharpening, heart holding, sharing smiles & meeting you where you’re at. Turn-ons: enthusiasm, courage, & equality in education.   • Yuri Chu Su

    Yuri (aka Fire Lily) comes from Chinese heritage, was born and raised in Peru, lived in Canada for over 20 years and now travels the world as a digital nomad. A former CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant), PhDJ magically entered her life once she acknowledged music had always been her first love, and she left corporate for a truly fulfilling life. Now she serves female entrepreneurs as an Online Business Manager where she turns chaos into organization, ideas into practical steps, inefficiencies into kick ass systems, and loves to bring visions to life. A soon to be PhDJ graduate and PhDJ’s BTS whiz, Yuri mixes her supercomputer genius with her deep love of music and dance to support all the magic, medicine, and transformation that will be created. Brand new to DJing? No worries! We have a huge range of skill levels joining us, from absolute beginner to folks who’ve been playing out for years. What we’re teaching in this program isn’t taught in any other DJ School, and the hard skills you need to rock this path are simpler than you think.

You can get started now with our DJ Essentials Class, which is included when you join PhDJ.

This recorded workshop will give you all the basics you need to get started with DJing:

  • Get to know your DJ gear (knobs, sliders, and cues oh my!!) … and learn what you actually need to know to get started

SKILLS BOOTCAMP

JANUARY 17 - 30 // 2023

Fully implement + integrate everything you learned in the DJ ESSENTIALS Workshop. For those new to DJing, this is where you get fully prepped to make mixes once school starts! Expect daily homework and practice guidance as well as ongoing support and Q+As with your PhDJ Coach and pod. Live class calls with Tasha, Meg and the team are January 17, 20 and 24th at our regular class times of 12-1:30pm ET.

IRL IMMERSION

FEBRUARY 17-19 2023 // Las Vegas, NV

We’ll spend 3 days going deep on the dance floor together.

Plan to arrive on or before the 16th, and expect to be in GO MODE from about 10am - dinner time each day. You will not need your dj equipment. We’ll spend all three days embodying everything we’ll be working on throughout the course, with plenty of time to connect + play with your cohort!!

We’re working to finalize details asap so you can book your travel and lodging!

Immersion will be livestreamed for those who can’t attend IRL.

Our graduates go on to launch their own club nights, education programs, embodied leadership trainings, retreats and ecstatic dances. Others incorporate the skills and awareness cultivated through PhDJ into their workplace, coaching practice, personal relationships and beyond.

Mixing tracks together masterfully is one thing. Standing in front of a huge crowd and radiating the kind of presence, command and artistry that says I’ve got you and you’re safe to surrender with me … is a whole new level of being.

Graduates of PhDJ will have the option to partner with us to launch BODY L🔻NGUAGE in their city. Those who choose to keep playing will receive ongoing mentorship, including everything you need to build your ethical dance cult.

FAQs

What’s my time commitment?

Don’t worry, we know you probably already have a demanding schedule. We’ll be speaking with every single applicant to get clarity around your level of readiness and commitment.  

PhDJ includes 3 hours of calls per week, plus assignments and connection with your cohort for feedback and sharing. Expect at least 4 hours of weekly homeplay. If you’re familiar with the joy of DJing, you already know how the time flies and we welcome folks to play above + beyond the minimum time commitment.

What if I fall behind?

To be clear, we’re doing this because it’s fun, fulfilling and an overall life upgrade.

Our intimate PhDJ community is a collective and captivating rocketship ride designed to create the momentum and camaraderie you need to follow through.

If you miss a class or homework assignment here and there, you’ll still be able to follow along and catch up on your own time. There’s no way to fail this class. What you put in is what you get out (x10!) and we’re here to support you in exceeding your own expectations.

How much does tuition cost?

Payment plans range from 9K - 13K USD. Due to the international nature of this program and PhDJ’s tuning in from many different socioeconomic realities worldwide, tuition is adjusted based on local economics. We’re committed to making this program accessible to everyone who’s a true fit for PhDJ.

PhDJ is a real investment of time, energy and resources. We expect those who fully apply the skills we’re sharing to be able to turn their passion into a valuable business model and begin to make back their investment by the end of the program.

What kind of equipment do I need?

The true art of DJing has nothing to do with fancy gear. Some of the greatest DJs of all time used nothing but two turntables to craft their legendary sets. Modern DJ software brings the functionality of those turntables directly to your laptop or iPad.

At minimum, you’ll want DJ software for your laptop or iPad. Beyond that, we recommend investing in a basic DJ controller, which will make controlling your mixes much easier.

If you’re investing in basic DJ software and equipment for the first time, we recommend starting with Native Instruments’ Traktor products, and your total investment should come in under $600.

Is this all virtual, or will we get to meet in person?

Mostly virtual! We will all come together for a three day IRL immersion in February that can be joined virtually where necessary. We have folks joining us from all over the globe, so it’s important that it remain accessible to everyone — but we definitely want you there in person!

You will also be creating in-person experiences and building your team IRL, so you’ll get plenty of real world, in the flesh experience throughout the program as you continue to connect virtually with your global PhDJ cohort.

How many folks will be joining the program?

We capped enrollment at 30 in 2022. We are growing our leadership team to accommodate a larger cohort in 2023. We’re building a group that unites a diverse set of perspectives as well as cultural, musical and training backgrounds, and we won’t grow faster or larger than what allows for real connection with individualized attention.

How can I connect with the cohort in between our group calls?

Our community forum lives on CIRCLE, a user friendly community platform and app. You’ll also be in a small pod led by one of our incredible PhDJ graduates with your fellow PhDJs for mix review, sharing, troubleshooting and all around connection.

Do I have to launch BODY L🔻NGUAGE? What if I just want to learn to be the best DJ ever?

We’re here to empower you to do what you’re here to do in exactly the way you’re here to do it. Our curriculum will give you the foundation for launching a life of embodied leadership and intelligent entrepreneurship.

Some of our trainees will go on to launch BODY LVNGUAGE or implement the BODY LVNGUAGE culture inside their organizations. Others will go on to become that badass DJs they’ve always wanted to be, wherever and however they want.

Everyone in training is here to make an impact through dance, music and community in alignment with our ethos. Beyond that - everything is totally possible.

What’s the difference between DJing and music production? Will you be teaching us both?

We teach the high art of DJing. The shamanic path of moving energy through a room + transforming bodies with sound. Music production (making your own original beats) is an entirely different skillset. If you’re looking for a purely technical course, we recommend checking out these resources.

When are classes? Do I have to be there live?

Group calls will be held on Tuesdays + Fridays from 12-1:30pm EST (NYC time).

Tuesdays are jam packed with curriculum, guest teachers and experiential learning. Fridays are for live DJing and Q+A. This is your chance to get hot seat coaching from Tasha + the team, plus personal attention from our incredible guest lineup, so we highly recommend being there live.

There will always be a replay posted shortly after the live class for anyone who needs to miss.
